Racer: Mike Jackson Q+A

1: When did you begin riding motorbikes and why?
"I passed my test in 2012 after a few months on a 125! I was looking for other ways to travel to work, and also my mates were getting into bikes too, so lets say it was peer pressure!"

2: So why the need to go racing?
"I've always loved motorsport, grew up watching the BTCC and Formula 1, this is the cheaper option than four wheels and I really enjoy the racing challenge and meeting new people in the paddock with whom I share a passion. There is no great NEED to do it, I enjoy it and have found something I'm half decent at!"

3: What are the longterm goals?
"To continue to race whilst I enjoy it, and if possible, to speak to new people about my Faith and how it helps me both on and off the track. I have no visions of being the next Shakey Byrne, I'm too old now! The only goal right now is to lose the novice bib :)"

4: Why is your Faith important to you and what does it bring to riding / life in general?
"Because I have personally seen God's hand at work throughout my life, I trust Him in everything and could not imagine life without His constant support and help. Knowing He is with me brings great peace both at the track and in other walks of life, it enables me to be a laid back fella! At times I have prayed for His help in my performance and indeed He delivered many times!"

5: Does the name get much stick at events?

"In a word, yes! I'm always happy to join in, it breaks the ice and one day I might hear an original joke, at 34 years old, I've heard them all!"

6: How was the Pizza?
"Awesome!"
